One-a-Day - Mostly Seattle is two years old today ... my wife helped me celebrate last night with pan seared halibut on a bed of steamed kale and a delicious wine sauce with capers.

Along with the halibut she prepared sautèd vegetables and black-eyed peas. After the main course she gave me this card which pretty well sums up how this blog began two years ago.
Next we shared a fruit tart which she had baked for me yesterday afternoon ... complete with sparkly celebration candles ...
And finally, now that the candles have burned out, is today's photo.
I've driven past Floyd's Place on lower Queen Anne time and again over the past many years. Each time I passed I said to myself "that's a cool sign, I should stop and photograph it." Well, today I did. The cow and pig rotate, continuously dancing with each other. I like the sign. It has life. It's different. Perhaps it is unique. In any case, yesterday I finally scratched an itch that's been with me for a long, long time.
My heartfelt thanks to you, Penny, for all your support, suggestions, counsel and editing. Without your help from time to time my readers would have experienced many more misspellings and sentences that were incomplete. Thank you.
Thank you, too, to all of you who have visited time and again, and for your many, many kind, funny, insightful and interesting comments. Here's to another year!

Congratulations!
How sweet of your wife to organize such a bash for you and your blog.
(That halibut looks divine...)
Looking forward to future posts and again thanks for your visits and comments over at my place.
Ciao

Congratulations Chuck (and Penny!) You have the sweetest wife! What a wonderful thing to recognize such an accomplishment! Here's to another year!
Happy Anniversary! More power to you. I am cybertasting your halibut.
Don't know Floyd's, but my daughter and son-in-law are building a house on Queen Anne, so I imagine I'll run across it.
Happy birthday! What a cool celebration, my mouth is watering at the sight of the halibut!
A toast to you! Thanks for all your efforts and great posts; I'm looking forward to your contributions this year, too. Love the meal she served, esp the kale. I find it odd that so many of my friends will not even try it. Can't convince them it's delicious. It also provides a beautiful green bed for the fish in your photo. Have a great day!!
She comes up with some great ways to celebrate, doesn't she? Looking forward to ALMOST One-a-Day for another year, and since I'm 'into' ad art, Floyd's definitely caught my eye.
I gotta go buy me some kale since I've never tasted it.
Happy Blogiversary! Our blogs are almost the same age. Perhaps we need to have a playdate when I'm back in Seattle!
Congratulations! Can't wait to see what she will be dishing up next year. My first anniversary is tomorrow.
Congratulations Chuck, that's a fantastic achievement.
Lovely to think that the better half of you is so supportive of the project.
I shall therefore extend my congratulations to you both!
Your pink sign with rotating pig and cow is a beauty and you chose the perfect moment to photograph it: both the light and the cropping are excellent.
Also loved the "tulips in january" photo BTW
Did Penny draw the card too? She sounds like a wonderfully talented woman and a very loving wife. That halibut is making me awfully hungry and I've just had dinner!
Congratulations on your 2nd blog anniversary, Chuck! And thank you for two years of amazing photos from a very interesting city. Here's to another great year!
Your choice of the dancing pig and cow for today made me smile. That, after talking about you and Penny. :D Whether it was deliberate or not, I love it.
Love celebrations! Happy birthday and thank you for bringing us wonderful photos and great comments. It is always a pleasure to read you. Looking forward to many more days - Mostly Seattle.
Congratulations on your two-year anniversary! What a thoughtful wife you have! I've never seen Floyd's Place. Is is a diner?
Happy Two Years, complete with video!

Happy Birthday, and Congratulations!
Chuck, you were my first real visitor when I started the City Daily Photo project, and you have always been so encouraging. The photos on your blog are always beautifully done, and your posts are always a delight to read!
I am looking forward to another year of inspiration from you!
Chuck, congratulations on reaching a milestone most blogs never achieve. It takes discipline and fortitude to post daily... my hat is off to you.
I went to Floyd's Place for lunch one day a few years ago and found the food, um, underwhelming. I remember the owner saying the loss of the Sonics (KeyArena is two blocks east) would be the end of his business, but that was a while ago, and the sign is still there...?
My thanks to all of you for your kind comments today.
I procrastinated for a long time before actually committing to a daily photo blog. Even then, I left myself some wiggle room by choosing "almost" oneaday as my blogger address. More City Daily Photo blog community wiggle room with "Mostly" Seattle. I travel some and wanted the latitude in my stated purpose to post other places. So, there! Two years down, and continuing.
... to answer a few specific questions:
_Floyd's is a BBQ joint and bar.
_Maya, a playdate is certainly a good possibility.
_Hilda, Penny added her personal touch and creativity to the card ... 4-1/2 plus all below "congratulations".
_Kelly, your neighborhood moose hooked me -:)
Congratulations, Chuck. I really enjoy your daily posts. Normally I see them in the early morning and I always find it a nice way to start a day reading your posts.
Keep going!
Really nothing new or fresh to add. I just wanted my voice to be among those offering congratulations. And empathy. I know how the blogging thing is!
Happy 2yrs of blogging here. As for a celebration---WOW---Penny sure is good to you.
I've been here 2yrs too.
Keep on clicking----MB
Congrats on the birthday. That food looks great, I, of course, love food porn.
That card is really funny, too. Particularly 4 1/2. LOL
Chuck:
I misunderstood when you posted elsewhere that you were TWO and I suggested that you acted more like 17.
Congratulations on your Blogbirthday. I just hope that we can have a belated birthday dinner somewhere when we do our second weekend together along the lines of that great Halibut in your photo.
It takes great fortitude to be able to post daily and it's nice to have some wiggle room
Now get your finger back on that shutter button . . .

Happy 2nd, Click!:)
Happy 2nd Birthday!!
Thanks for all the great photos taken around town. You make me realize there are so many places I've never been!!

Happy Happy 2nd blog birthday, Chuck. What a fabulous card. I could do with a wife like Penny! It seems congratulations are in order for you both!
The sign and that outrageous pig are such fun.
Thanks for the great photos and always such interesting commentary each day and looking forward to another great year.
Congratulations Chuck! Looking forward to more.
Thanks to all of you for joining our Celebration! Life is too short to not celebrate each other, and this blogbirthday definitely deserved a celebration. I have the insider's view of the dedication and discipline it takes to post daily, given the capricious nature of insipiration. I am very proud of Chuck. And I know he didn't do it just for the halibut!!
A belated happy birthday to your blog, Chuck!
«Louis» encourages you to have Floyd's take good care of the cow. The pig, he's not so concerned about...
Belated happy 2nd Blogoversary, Chuck!!! I don't know how I missed it on the day, but saw the announcement on the Forum News tonight.
Big congrats, and it looks like your lovely wife helped you enjoy it to the max. Lifting my glass from across the ship canal and toasting your fine images, friendly writing, and wonderful humor. Best to you as you begin your third year of daily posts.
