A lonely Great Blue Heron in a farm field on Fir Island in the Skagit Valley near Conway, Washington. I had driven the 60 miles or so north of Seattle specifically to photograph the wintering snow geese, which I posted back in February.
I've been spending more time editing and processing images during the last few rainy days. So, every now and again I run across something that seems worthy of sharing ... especially given the fact I didn't make any new images yesterday. -:)
What do you suppose this bird is thinking?

Oh my goodness! I love this image! Fabulous focus on that bird and the red in the background... very good find.
Look at those nice lines; the trees, his neck, the skinny legs.
What's he thinking? Dunno....but it's a nice shot!
"Why did I get this large bill? Probably for sticking my neck out".
He's thinking - "Who's that bloke taking photos?!"
Great photo Chuck :)
Why is that silly git pointing that thing at me?
"Dang. I guess I missed the tulip festival..."
Like he's waiting for a fish to drop out of the sky.
Nice shot Chuck.
