Yesterday was election day across the United States. Washington state has recently changed the way citizens vote to an all mail-in ballot system. There are, however, still a few official ballot drop-off locations in the city. I took our ballots to the one at the Ballard library today, choosing to go for a scooter ride instead of paying 96¢ to support our postal system. I wasn't the only voter preferring to drop their ballot off in person. There was a steady line of people, like the man above, arriving to cast their vote in person.

I always like to take my ballot somewhere, too, but obviously for me here that's not an option.
I do though like to mail letters directly at the post office and not just stick a stamp on and drop them in a mailbox.
I see you...
...Tuesday, aprox 4:45pm, I am happy to report that I was in a line up of vehicles stopping to drop off ballots in front of the Des Moines, Washington Library Branch.
Woke up to bad news in Maine, viz-a-viz the referendum on Gay Marriage.
Ming, that step backward was reported front page in the Seattle Times, too. Our referendum "everything but marriage" is still passing by a slim number ...
Bibi, yes, with the sun getting so far south and lower in angle it's sometimes tough to get out of my own way. A self-portrait of sorts -:)

I think its all part of the voting process to physically drop in your ballot. It makes you feel like you are making a difference, having your say. And that is the most important thing we, as citizens, can do.
It annoys me when people say they can't be bothered to vote. In that case don't moan about taxes etc etc.
Rant over!
Oh you guys are soooo this century. Here in Bama, we still go to the school and stand in line and yada yada yada. Mon Dieu!!!

My ballot goes to the grocery store. I can shop and vote at the same time. I too think that most like to go somewhere to vote--it seems like it really counts that way.
My camer!! I had to take it in--still under warrenty thank goodness. Remember when I saw you last summer and I told you what it had been doing--the lens etc--anyway the 'geek squad' guy said it is a gear in the lens mechanism, so they or someone will fix it. They better anyway!!!
