Five years ago I was fortunate enough to be in New York City and attend the amazing Greenwich Village annual Halloween Parade. I've discovered over the years that sometimes the best images are found behind the scenes in the staging area. Not having to battle with spectators is a real plus, not to mention that the costumed participants have both the time and inclination to give an itinerant photographer a bit of time and attention.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween, everybody!
And, of course, this date also means that tomorrow is once again the first of a new month. As is the habit of bloggers participating in the City Daily Photo Blog circle, November 1st will be yet another International Theme Day. Our CDPB November theme is "doors". Should be interesting. I've yet to decide what to post ... so y'all come back, now, y'hear?

Usually 'beautiful' isn't a word used to describe Halloween, but that's what your photo is.
Yup. This one is a keeper. And the little pumpkin in the slide show...
That is a great and beautiful image. Love the atmosphere.
I've always loved Pierrot so I think this is a wonderful costume and portrait!
We don't really celebrate Halloween in the Philippines, but Happy Halloween anyway!
Boy, you pulled out a good one for today Chuck. Colorful and festive to say the least. Thanks for the reminder of Theme Day. I can't wait to see what everyone is going to post.
Happy Halloween!
Super photo Chuck. Love the colours.
It is a bit cold here -- about 30 and the kids and grandkids are out and about in and out of costumes picking up candy -- trick or treat. Nowadays it is all treat -- tricks they don't do. Anyway, I like the white face. A reminder of the face paint used by Geisha's in Japan. They usually paint the whole face and neck except in the back. Leaving it natural skin color.
I am stuck indoors since I couldn't breathe outside in the cold. Not bad as it is peaceful.
I would have thought Venice instead of New York!
A beautiful Photograph.
