Sleeping on a bed of peppers, she's pretty hot stuff, don't you think?
One of the farm vendors pointed out this uniquely shaped eggplant to me, and of course I had to photograph her. Where? The Pike Place Market, naturally.
A new photo a day. That is the intention. Chuck Pefley has been a professional fine art, stock and travel photographer for more than 30 years. Chuck sells his Pacific Northwest photos from his daystall table at the Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington. Fresh daily!

Oh, I just love amusing vegetables...I've posted one or two.
I love this eggplant; looks like The Venus of Wallendorf.
Did you buy 'her'?
Nice color! When your page first loaded on my computer, I actually did think at first that the photo had a body in it!
A very striking and sensuous vegetable !!! But if you really want to make an impact, you'll have to find one that looks like Jesus. I once lived near a house that had a reflection, from a non-transparent security window, that resembled Jesus, and there were lines of people waiting to see it for several days.
an email comment from subscriber Robert ...
Hah! Great fun . . immediately I saw your photo, Michael Franks' "Eggplant" started playing in my head: " . . . . when my baby cooks with eggplant, 'bout 19 different ways . . . . " And next I thought of Ken Gill's song "Food and Sex" which I don't think features eggplant directly but is a fun ditty about what the fruits and vegetables do in the kitchen at night when you're asleep.
That's definitely one "hot" eggplant!! Robert
... and from Facebook friend Becky ... "Whoa! That eggplant needs a good support bra."
She does have some curves doesn't she? And giving us that "come hither" look too. She's such a tease.
Love those colors! So vibrant and beautiful. Makes me hungry for eggplant!
Unusual looking. I like the purple and red, very seasonal.
What a great and fun image. Perfect Venus!
Eggplants/aubergines/whatever are sensual under any circumstances. Frank Zappa once said that if you call any vegetable, the vegetable will respond to you.
hmm ... I've never been lucky enough to have a vegetable say anything to me. Although that might not be completely accurate as this eggplant fairly cried out for attention and silently bade me photograph "her".
Well how voluptuous she is. Oh my Chuck!!! Good one.

You naughty boy!!
An old friend, Tim Small, used to go to the market and collect what he called "Obstreperous Vegetables." This aubergine is very, very obstreperous!
