Over the years I've shopped here from time to time. Byrnie Utz Hat shop began business in 1934, and I suspect the interior hasn't changed much over the last 75 years. All four walls inside are filled with glass-fronted doors protecting rows and rows of hats from dust and dirt. On top of the covered shelves are stacks of hat boxes. Near the door you'll find stacks of substantial and heavy wooden boxes that contain wool caps, berets, Greek fishing hats, and probably any other style you can imagine. Need a new top hat? How about a Stetson? Or, perhaps a golf cap? Go to Byrnie Utz Hats.

I know this store, but have never gone in. Thanks to your link, I have entered!
In Pa. where I grew up, Utz was and still is the name of a company that makes the best potato chips....
Beautiful shot !! I loved this post !! Thanks for sharing..
There's just something about old shops that brings a fuzzy feeling all around. Unfortunately in my city only a handful are thriving. I don't know if they even went far back.
Borsalino! Do you have one? Not something I have heard talked about for many years, thanks.
If they are that old, I'm assuming they re-block hats. Do they?
In 3 Rivers ... no Borsalino for me; I'm more a beret kind of guy.
MrCachet ... all their hats are round -:))
Yes, I suspect they do have the skill and equipment to re-block your Davey Crocket ring-tail hat. LOL!!
Do you buy your berets there/
I think I would love this store I would spend hours inside...
trying Borsalinos or trying to take pictures!!
Marie-Noyale, yes, I have purchased a couple of berets there -:)
