Postcard Friendship Friday #1

Something a little fun and different. I just stumbled into his group of linked blogs ... Postcard Friendship Friday which seems to have been started by Marie in Saint Fargeau, Yonne, France. So, in lieu of my sometime participation in the Skywatch Friday theme, I bring you a selection of postcards found in the village of Montalcino in the Tuscany Region of Italy. No, I'm not traveling at the moment ... this image was made while on my first trip to Italy in 2004.
Click here if you'd like to see some other Postcard Friendship Friday postings. Also, here is another favorite of mine along this same line ... Old Paper Art ...

Chuck! This is just gorgeous! The shot has such depth and razmatazz. The brick background gives it such a kick of charm too:) It's dangerous to give a hyper silly woman a web camera, eh? Th Ramsey Daily Photo swing bridge cult DEFINITELY needed a secret handshake! I had to look up how the heck to say triskelion though! Thank goodness dictionary.com will actually pronounce the word for you! Hooray for audio clips:)Thank you soooo much for joining PFF!

Chuck, a great way to mark the day for postcards. I have found it difficult to find postcards and need to really hunt for any that reflect my own city. A dying art?

Good idea. We all collect them. There were days when a postcard was a great substitute for us not taking pictures. We could not equal what was already photographed.

Ah, Tuscany, it's been too long! How funny to see the Sunday Telegraph in the rack on the left.

Nice find, Chuck! Besides the Marianne connection, she's got a Piggyback rider as well.

Holy cow! I haven't sent a postcard in ages. I'll have to check out the link.

Funny I should see this post today when I'm in the process of reading 'As We Were', a book about photographic postcards of the early 20th century.

Great photo.

Chuck, I met some very nice guys from Seattle in the bar at the Atlanta Airport the other night. THey were going to Italy to ride motorcycles. I told them about you and they said your name sounded familiar! You're famous! HA Hope you get to meet them one day.

That's a good subject for a photo. It would be nice as a postcard too.

I am real late getting out and about to everyone's blog this week. I've been out of town and have had little time to play. But I'm glad I stopped by today.
I think my favorite is the cypress trees in the field of yellow. :-)

Hope your weekend has been beautiful.

How fun! I never would have thought to take this kind of photo! It is so interesting.

I'm sorry I am coming by so late for Postcard Friendship Friday. My parents were involved in a roll-over accident on the freeway and are both now recovering, leaving little time for blogging. I had a few minutes just now, though, so here I am.

Happy PFF!
