Fresh Lavender

Can you smell this fresh scent? Wonderful to wander amongst the rows of lavender plants and watch the bees flit from blossom to blossom. These women seem to be enjoying their experience gathering fresh stalks to take home. Perhaps they'll make arrangements, or tea, or dry the flowers and use as seasonings in their kitchen creativity. Then again they may just enjoy the time together to share a story.

This image is from Fox Farm Lavender and made during the Vashon Island annual lavender festival I attended last weekend.

Nice commentary. Maybe a bit of them all...

Reminds me. I got to cut some lavender and bring it in the house before it rains.

Nice shot, Chuck.

Did you bring home lots of it!!!
This could have been taken in Provence...
Such beautiful hues of blue...
And yes the scent is coming my way!

Sorry I haven't been much around. A family Health worry is keeping me away from the commentary's sphere .

Nice shot of the two ladies. Love the color too. By the way, how much lavender can you haul on the scooter?

MN, no, we've several plants in our garden.

Don & Krise ... depends on the scooter -:)

Our lavender festival was this past weekend as well. There are so many farms around that we only visited three. I have several of my own plants, but it was beautiful to see it in such abundance in the field.

And I love watching the bees.

This photo reminds me of the lavender fields I saw outside of Aix-en-Provence in France. Ever since then, I've been a huge fan of lavender scent.

Love the colors!

Oh, Chuck, how joyous and lovely. I have a friend here in Portland who recently made lavender ice cream. I'll bet she'd join right in with your two women.
