Sunday dawned grey and threatening in Seattle. Rain and possible thunderstorms were predicted. The Westenders Scooter Club had an agenda, however, and a little moisture when you're with friends and scooting is only a slight inconvenience. We took a ferry to nearby Vashon Island to take in the annual Lavender Festival. My friends Fuzz and Julie with daughters Sam and Jac asked me to take their photo amongst the rows of fragrant lavender. Daughters Sam and Jac ride on the seats behind their mom and dad and are along on many of our rides. It pleases me a great deal to know parents and children who genuinely enjoy being together.
Some of the Westender SC group's scooters parked under the trees at the Lavender Sisters farm on Crescent Drive SW on Vashon Island.

Always interesting to meet the locals or as in this case some of your friends. A little rain can't stop the scooter people, looks like a fun day.
You are right of course, Chuck.
There's something about the word scooting, as in "Let's go Scooting" that seems like an invitation to fun for a family. I sort of get a different impression if I say "Let's ride", like perhaps we've just robbed a bank.
Sounds like a wonderful day, rain or not. Wow, kids that want to go with their parents......amazing.
Click,
What a fun day it was, even the rain was nice to ride in.
Lovely shots! Sounds like you had a fun day!
Families who enjoy each opther's company! Now that is a radical notion. Beautiful protrait and the scotters of course, their own special charm.
