Empty as an action word, or verb. My granddaughter Carly at age 2 wanting to EMPTY the dishwasher ...
Empty as unoccupied ... in this case an empty chair which is being used as a parking space place-holder in front of Giacomo's Ristorante in Boston's North End Italian District. This scene was repeated every evening the restaurant was open, and believe me, it was guarded by the eagle eye of the front-end waiter. As you can guess, parking is tough in this neighborhood.

Oh, look at that cutie trying to help. Great contribution to theme day.
Why are kids fascinated with dishwashers. I think they have a secret world in there and a cute one too. The light in the second filtering through, the lonely chair says France in the morning.
Congratulations she is adorable and your pictures fabulous!

Good variation on the word 'empty'. MB
Good choices, I like the 2 year old helping out.
Two lovely shot - and commentary - for today's theme. Love that child clearing the dishwasher. My dogs do that! Before they are washed, that is...
I love your two takes on the theme!
That chair reminds me of winters in Chicago, when people used put in some hard labor to shovel out a parking space, then save it with chairs and lawn furniture. Move that stuff at your peril.
Does Carly say the word "Empty" with a question mark behind it, or an exclamation point?
What does the local Boston Cop have to say about a chair that doesn't have wheels under it?
So many questions, but at least I'm now empty.
Nice photographs, Chuck.
Wonderful ideas for July Theme Day! I really enjoy these photos!
I liked your two takes on this months theme, though I'm not sure about the child labour! Lol!
Too bad two year olds grow up, Dad... and forget how or lose the desire to "EMPTY" the dishwasher...
Love the creativity in sercuring parking...! I sometimes need to use a cone at work for my "reserved" spot that people forget is reserved...maybe a chair like this would be a better idea.. Nice pics!!!

Your happy well adjusted middle child in TEXAS! :)
That top photo is too cute! Remind me to tell you what one of my kids did with the dishwasher once...
Yes, it was fun sneaking up on you today at the Market!
See you soon.
Both excellent shots to represent that word!
Nice choices for the theme day :-)
Great atmosphere in your restaurant shot!
Don't you just love kids! What a beautiful shot!
