Dog's day out

These three chihuahuas created a lot of interest on the street at the Pike Place Market yesterday afternoon. Can't say I'm impressed with their finery, but they definitely are dressed up. The guy in the center wearing the "doggles" and beanie is apparently a fan of the Seattle Mariner's Ichiro ... have to wonder if he gets to go to the games at Safeco Field.

Tomorrow is again the first of the month ... how time does fly! Being the first it is also City Daily Photo Blog monthly theme day. The theme for July 1st is "empty" and should produce some interesting photos around the world. Do stop back and see what "empty" might be.

Chihuahuas seem to be a breed that people love to dress up. I suppose substitute babies. Sometimes I do wonder if the dogs like it, tho. I guess they don't get asked. Nice shot, Chuck.

Now those are tiny dogs. I too wonder if they like getting dressed up. They do seem to like all the attention though. MB

Poor pups! I used to do this to my cat when I was a kid. I can still see the disgusted look on her face. Cats are too dignified to put up with being dressed like a doll. Dogs like to please, on the main, so I guess don't object so strongly. Perhaps these little guys like looking cute for an audience, but most chihuahuas I've met seem nervous about strangers.

The poor dogs. Wouldn't you love to give the dogs a chance to accessorize their owners just once?

They look strange when they are dressed up...I wonder how they feel.

Dog's day out? More like rats! Great capture, though I'm not sure about the outfits!

Jilly, that was my thought.

Kim, cats have staff and don't take kindly to this sort of treatment.

Don & Krise, I personally think having the dog dress the owner is a perfect idea.

Marley, you're obviously very politically insensitive, but I have to agree -:)
