Clouds may get in the way

Seattle has tied its record of 29 days without measurable precipitation. But, because weather records are based on standard time, and we're now using daylight saving time, one a.m. is the magic time. That's why at one a.m. Thursday morning, we officially tied the rrecord set in 1982 of 29 consecutive days of no measurable rainfall. And that's why we need to stay dry at SEATAC airport until one a.m. Friday to officially break the record. This photo was made last evening about 8 p.m., and as you can see above there were clouds in the sky last night. And so, will we turn 30 and set a new record? We'll see.
If you need something to fill the time until this breathtaking weather race is decided, you might enjoy visiting other blogs participating in SKYWATCH FRIDAY.

29 days?!?! That's a lot of rainy days! No wonder Dr. Frasier Crane had so many listeners.
I heard Jeff Renner talking about this earlier tonight. We'll see if it doesn't rain at SeaTac. There were some rains showers in the area.
And it figures it's gonna rain this weekend cuz we've got plans that include the great outdoors. Oh well, bring the rain jacket.
Have a great weekend!
Ming, that is 29 days WITH-OUT rain. Nada. Zip. None.
Great clouds against a blue sky.

Great shot! We do have beautiful skies here in Seattle, don't we? Regardless of the lack of rain!
Have a great weekend!

It has been wonderful to say the least. Don't let the news out though. Tell everyone that it rains every other day here.(heh-heh)
Your photographs are beautiful! I love Seattle.
"Blue skies, smiling at meeee...."
Lovely shot, and I hope it is one that will greet me in Seattle. I leave here tomorrow for the East coast, then it's on to the Emerald City at the end of the month.
clouds...sweet clouds!
Beautiful shot!

What's thst OLD Perry Como song----'The Skies are Always Blue in Seattle'. Hasn't it been a wonderful and unusual run. The cloud display has been beautiful the past few days. MB
I woke up this morning (in Seatac) to an overwhelming joyous chorus coming from all things green... the rain has returned.
From the KING-5 weather web sit: We just missed setting the record at Sea-Tac by 11 minutes. Sea-Tac reported .01" as of 11:49PM - Pacific Standard Time (12:49AM PDT - BUT NWS records are all on standard time). The record for May-June dry streak remains 29 days. This year is ran 5/20-6/17/09.
Frasier Crane Ming! I'm listening. I always thought Seattle was traditionally a wet city so 29 days straight with such a fluffy sky must seem so odd. Good to Bibi will finally make it back. Any blog meets to be arranged perhaps. I am a curious as a cat.Ok plain old nosy.
Looks like some of your rain finally drifted over the Cascades to our little SE corner. I love the photo.
Have a great weekend,

Cool cloud formations - one of my favorite things to photograph!
I didn't get a chance to check the news. I know we had a small amount of rain last night in Tacoma.
I enjoyed reading your little bio on the side, I can relate 100%.
