Catching Dinner

I was both captivated and drawn in by her joyful smile. Khuyen Touong, a Vietnamese woman, was fishing from the public fishing pier in West Seattle. The fact that she preferred to use a simple spool of line, rather than a reel on her pole, was surprising and intriguing. Khuyen said she had a reel, but found this method easier. She catches cod and salmon ... "once a 35 pound salmon" she said, grinning!

I have seen people do this with great success. Maybe I'll try this summer...I loved to fish as a kid. Do you need a permit? Do they check...?

Bibi, I would expect a fishing license is needed.

It goes to show that it's not always the hundreds of dollars of equipment that does it. Nice smiling face.
