High Dive

Diving into the marshmallow cloud seems natural for this woman with perfect form suspended above the entrance to the live music venue High Dive in the Fremont neighborhood. An interesting neon sign in it's own right, but there is more. Inside will be found scheduled groups with creative names such as "Retribution Gospel Choir", "Midstroke", "Eclectic Approach", "Hearts Divided", and "The Crafty Bastards".

Since Friday has rolled around again, this is a "Skywatch Friday" post. To see the list of other blogs participating in SWF hosted at Tom Wigley's blogspot, click here.

I'd like to join this neon lady in her jump, but not into a cloud---a pool is just fine. I have seen this sign, but I guess due to a generation gap, haven't gone in to listen to the music. Should I?

Very interesting band names! Sky diving ladies? Who wouldn't want to take a leap of faith into that brilliant blue sky. As for the dive into the dive, I would have to just for the last band name.

Hope you are having a great Sky Watch Friday.
I love signs like that -- you found a great one there...
And if you are in Seattle, I bet that blue sky with the puffy cloud is an unusual sight -- my parents originated from that area and they used to tell me that it rained almost 364 days out of the year...

Brilliant name and neon sign. And the shot is perfect for SWF.

I Love your idea of diving in a Marshmallow sky...
This is a perfect photograph for a hot summer friday Skywatch!
Did you listen to any of those bands??

Chuck,
The sky in "borrowed time" was great too... it amazes me how the sky provides this fabulous (and sometimes dramatic backdrop), or a cheerful fun backdrop like this.

I know that Tom would like this one.
Unfortunately Tom is on bed rest today and for the first time you are stuck with me. I have my orders to visit as many as I can, and make sure the links are working and everyone is being good. I am sure you are all being good.
Tom and I thank you for Sky-Watching this week. I am sure that as soon as Tom's heart beat settles down he will be back here and visiting.

What a great neon sign. It's too bad neon signs have gone out of fashion, or maybe it's just because they are so expensive, but they can be more whimsical than an ordinary sign.

You'll be amazed at mine.
